Making miracles out of mistakes might seem like a miracle all on its own, but there are steps you can take that’ll make you great again after a setback. We all make mistakes but we don’t all deal with the consequences in a similar way.

There are people who make a mistake and find it impossible to get back up. There are people who make a mistake and never learn from it.

And then there are those people who make a mistake, process and accept it for what it is and move on with their life. In other words, they’re learning how to make miracles out of their mistakes.

No matter which definition you fit into, it’s beneficial to understand how those who make miracles out of mistakes actually do it.

Forgive Yourself

Before you can move forward from any personal obstacle you need to accept what happened, be willing to learn from it, let go and then forgive yourself.

This isn’t an easy process, and if it were we’d all be doing it already. Acceptance is part of mindfulness. When we bury feelings and lie to ourselves about what’s really going on we’re likely to end up worse off in the long run.

Confront what’s bothering you and admit to yourself that you’re disappointed, but don’t continue to beat yourself up. Practice self-compassion and focus your energy on enjoying brighter days ahead.

Make A Gratitude List

Gratitude is known to improve a person’s health and it’s no different in this particular case.

Acknowledge what you’re grateful for each day (even if it’s just one thing) and then take a minute to sit with those emotions and feelings.

Your day will be that much better when you’re in this mindset. Take gratitude with you, to your job, the store, when you go visit friends, keep that peace with you throughout your days, wherever you go.

The more time we take to count our blessings and genuinely give thanks for what we do have, the more joyful and positive we become. We start to see people, life and ourselves in a new light, a positive light.

It’s a rewarding and beautiful experience.

Focus On The Present Moment

It’s very important to live in the now and focus your attention on what’s right in front of you when you’re dealing with heartache.

Spending too much time ruminating about what you did in the past or what the future might look like just causes more anxiety. Notice where you are in the moment and realize that you’re okay.

Things might not be that great at the time, and it’s possible you’ll have a tough road ahead, but staying present will help you work through trying times and guide you to making miracles out of mistakes.

Making Miracles Through Connections

Seek out information and find people or situations that you can relate to when you’re feeling stuck and isolated.

I bet you realize that there are countless people who have either been through what you’re going through, or who are going through it at the same time.

Mistakes tend to make us feel like there’s something wrong with us and that we deserve to feel bad, but that’s not true. There are plenty of online resources and communities that’ll prove to you that you’re not on your own after all.

Reach Out For Support

No one has to do it alone. When we get down on ourselves it makes us want to run and hide from the world and sulk in our own shame, but this won’t get you anywhere.

This is the time when you need to reach out to those who love and support you and let them know you need them. It’s okay to ask for help and allow others hold you up when you can’t do it yourself.

Accept Mistakes For What They Are

You are not your mistake. Practicing mindfulness will help you separate from labeling yourself and your mishaps.

It’s common to make generalizations when you’re in a vulnerable state and start to believe your life is headed downhill. Well, I’ve got good news for you.

It’s not because a lot of it is just in your head.

Making miracles doesn’t happen overnight, give it time. Meditation will help you learn to take notice of your thoughts and eventually take control of them.

Be sure to separate who you are as a person from an event or situation that took place.

Don’t Give Up

This is by far the most important step of the process. It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down, what matters is how many times you get back up and fight.

Don’t let giving up even be an option. Know that there’ll be times when you’re tired and don’t see a lot of hope ahead, but that’s the very time you need to stay strong and convince yourself that everything will be okay.

      I couldn’t agree more on accepting mistakes. It’s sometimes hard to face them but once you do they feel less scary!
