So I’ve recently just started a new job. It’s been a long time coming (but one which I wasn’t expecting until some more months!).
I’ve left my old energy company and moved into a much smaller and newer one. It’s been a shock to the system, definitely. It’s been a struggle to switch off when I get home and definitely been hard to get to sleep at night.
Although I don’t normally talk about work, I feel it necessary to talk about it today.
For those who don’t particularly enjoy their day job, keeping a good balance between the two is necessary.
I say this out of love, not a necessity either. I’ve experienced this issue first hand when it comes to not having a balance (and not enjoying a job). Heck, this applies to people who love their job, too. Probably even more so!
Not only this but when you have a mental health issue, not having a balance can make it worse. It causes unnecessary stress and can lead to exhaustion.
I don’t want you to get there. According to mentalhealth.org.uk, 3 out of 10 people have a sick day due to stress each year. That’s a lot.
So, here are some helpful ideas to help you bring back your work life balance. These are all geared towards those with a mental health issue, but work for those without, too.
